At 8:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 2, 2010, the Mason Lion’s Club’s 4th Annual Gem of the Hill Country 5 & 10k Run/Walk will take place. Starting on the south side of the Mason County Courthouse next to the old Jail, participants will wend their way through the neighborhoods on a course which includes some hills, a few dales, and one of the most beautiful scenic views in the hill country.
The Lions Club is proud of their race and well they should be. Proceeds help many of Mason’s non-profit organizations and the race is drawing racers, runners and walkers from towns throughout the hill country not to mention the ever increasing attendance of fitness-minded Mason folk.
So…, come on out! Participate or volunteer or just hang-out. The Lion’s Club’s Hill Country 5 & 10k Run/Walk promotes health, good causes, and, it promotes Mason. What more can you ask for in an event? And, after the race and awards, check out the Old Yeller booths at Heritage Park behind the city’s library, and take a gander at the stores on Mason’s Square and afterwards, stop for a bite at one of one of our town’s many great restaurants. You won’t be disappointed!
