Virginia Hernandez, 74, of Amarillo died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010.

Rosary was said at 7 p.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mass was celebrated at noon Friday, September 10th, in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Jose Gomez as celebrant. Burial was in Llano Cemetery.

Mrs. Hernandez was born Jan. 11, 1936, in Mason to Manuel and Leandra Hernandez. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include four sons, Gillermo Hernandez, Rick Hernandez, John Hernandez and Jessie Hernandez, all of Amarillo; two daughters, Margaret Hildebrand of Phoenixville, Pa., and Susan Madrigal of Amarillo; two sisters, Brigidea Hernandez Velez and Consuelo Anda; two brothers, Juan Hernandez and Manuel Hernandez Jr.; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Virginia Hernandez Fund at any First Bank Southwest.
