Mason 4-H Club to Host Bake Sales to Benefit Food Bank
Wednesday, September 22, 2010 • Posted September 22, 2010

The Mason 4-H Club will be at the Mason Feed Store on Friday, October 1st from 1-5 p.m., and at both the Super S grocery store and the Mason Feed Store on Saturday, October 2 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

The 4-H Council voted to sell homemade baked goods and homemade frozen casseroles, targeting the hunters coming into town for bow season and the local citizens. All monies collected will be donated to the Ministeral Alliance for the Mason Food Bank, and we will also donate any leftover goodies, as the Food Bank distribution day is the next Monday.

4-H members, this is an opportunity to do some cooking with your family and to give back to the community. We will need people to work the bake sale, particularly on Saturday, so please call the Extension office at 347-6459 if you can help work for a couple of hours.

Please bring a frozen 8x8 casserole in a disposable pan, labeled with the recipe and the baking directions. We would also like you to bring a baked good, wrapped and labeled with the name of the item. We are asking each family to bring 2 casseroles or 2 baked goods, or one of each. Of course you can bring more if you’d like, and we welcome donations from the community.

We will take the goodies at the Extension office (505 Moody Street, in the Historical Building behind the pool) Friday morning from 8-12, or you can bring them at 1 p.m. on Friday to the Feed Store or at 9 a.m. Saturday to either the Feed Store or the Super S. Thanks for helping us "Make the Best Better"!
