David H. Vargas

Mr. David H. Vargas, of Mason, passed away on Saturday, September 25, at the age of 65.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, September 30 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Mason Funeral Home chapel. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

David was born on August 20, 1945, in Presidio, TX, to David Vargas and Virginia Hernandez Vargas. He moved to Mason in 1980 and in 1985 married Jane Ortiz. David was an avid Mason Puncher fan, attending as many sporting events as possible and especially liked to watch the tennis matches. He loved to watch sports on tv, and really liked to watch the Dallas Cowboys.

Mr. Vargas is survived by his wife Jane Ortiz Vargas of Mason, four children: Tammi Pinter and husband Joe of Mason, Janie Vargas of Abilene, Joe David Vargas of San Angelo and Michael Vargas of San Antonio. He is also survived by eight sisters: Cruz Orosco of Lubbock, Maria Perez and husband David of Clifton, AZ, Gracie Padilla and husband Salvador of Monahans, Delia Montes of Kermit, Manuela Carasco and husband Ismael of Monahans, Dora Salgado and husband Johnny of Monahans, Lupe Maez of Arizona, two grandchildren Elijah Pinter and Benjamin Pinter of Mason and numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece Priscilla Carasco and husband Benny of Wink.

David was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Pauline Vargas
