Organizers of the Wild Game Dinner are looking forward to serving a delicious variety of game to a large crowd this Saturday, October 2, at the Blanco County Show Barn in Johnson City.

This year’s fare is fried Axis, Sika, Black Buck, wild game chili, whole roasted hog, gumbo, fried alligator, wild boar, fresh homemade sausage, boiled shrimp, wild game stew, brisket, fried rabbit, rabbit stew, fried sweet potatoes, along with bacon wrapped dove and quail. Meal includes Dutch oven cobbler, other homemade desserts and tea.

Doors open at 5:00 p.m. with serving and raffle starting at 5:30. It’s the best deal in town - $15 for the meal, door prize chance, and dance until midnight with The Mike Clifford Band.

The 50 raffle items look like everything you’d need for the deer lease (and more). Included are nineteen Rifles and Shotguns, Scope, Game Camera, Rangefinder, Cookers, Generator, Shooting Bench and much more.

Only those attending the dinner will be able to participate in the 100 Square Raffle featuring one of a kind Patriotic airbrush designed Remington CTi II 12 gauge. Also, $20 "Pick of the Raffle" chances will be sold until 8:00 p.m.

Six guns, Atlas single tower thrower, an autographed University of Texas Football Helmet, Floating on the Frio package, Spurs vs. Atlanta Ledge Box Seats, and four hunts, including a Quail hunt in Sandy, Mason hog hunt for two, trophy Aoudad hunt at Benson Farm and Ranch, and an incredible 10-Day South African Hunting Safari for 2 hunters, will be exciting live auction items during the evening’s schedule.

The whole family can get involved in the silent auction offering a wide variety of more than 120 items. A Guided Laguna Madre Fishing Trip, Red Cedar Picnic Table, Roasted Hog for 100 Guests, Chainsaw Wood Sculpture by Jerry Hendricks, Golfing Certificate, Gift Baskets, and Massage Certificates are just a few of the fun things to bid on.

Salem’s Jewelry in Marble Falls has donated a stunning Sterling Silver with 18K Gold Blue Topaz Necklace and Earring set that some lucky winner will take home this Saturday. One hundred $20 "Bauble in a Bubble" chances will be sold at the Wild Game Dinner. Players also have a chance to win 2 other great jewelry pieces, one donated by Suzy Q’s, and the other from Carol’s Creations Fashion Jewelry.
