Fall weather is upon us; bright sunny days and cool evenings make a wonderful combination. Take time to enjoy the beauty around you and give thanks to God for his many gifts.

Birthday wishes go out this week to E. Wayne Jordan and Wayne C. Jordan both on the 8th. Sophia Jordan, Roger and Tyra’s granddaughter on the 8th also. And Elizabeth Hoerster Cano on the 9th. Celebrating their anniversaries, on the 10th are Laird and Beth Palmer and on the 11th are John and Kelly Mutschink. Have a wonderful day.

Prayers of comfort have been asked for Janie Vargas and family, the Donald Ziriax family, Tracy Stanley and family and the Osbourne family as they deal with losses. Prayers of healing have also been asked for Susan Ceynowa’s brother Fred, Kathy Jordan’s mother, Barbara Krause’s sister Cindy Mitchell and Mark Krause’s mother Jane. Also keep Andrew Kothmann, Etta Marie Mutschink, Nathaniel Jordan, Pearl Leifeste and Anna Grace Durst in your thoughts and prayers.

I also ask for prayers for my Dad. Hopefully he’ll be feeling better and back writing this column in the near future.

I have to take a moment here to share something very powerful and personal. I don’t find it easy to ask for help (I get that from Daddy!) but when it’s offered, I will gladly accept. On Sunday, stepping into church, I felt help and love and concern immediately. We were completely wrapped in the love, not only from our God, but from the amazing people at the Art church. It’s hard to put into words what that feels like, and I only hope every person can experience the warmth and all encompassing love that comes from God and His children.

The sermon on Sunday was given by Reverend Larry Altman, the San Angelo district superintendent, entitled "Whose House is This". Too often we forget who owns the church. It’s not enough for a church to be a people, we are the people of God, we belong to God. We’re called to be the body of Christ, the community of the Holy Spirit. Whose spirit are we baptized into? At whose table to we gather? God owns the church. We belong to God.
