At the Mason Starving Artists Show on October 30, 2010, Nan Loeffler is hoping to again show her weird and wonderful art work.
A retired art teacher and now a silversmith, Nan works mainly in silver and copper. She loves to play with her art, mix it up, and have fun.
She often adds ceramic, glass, rock, beads, plastic, and unique items to make a wearable work of art. She says "If it isn’t fun, I’m not interested."
Two new pieces available are made from a sterling silver salt shaker. One is a spider made from the top of the shaker and the other is a pendant made from the bottom of the shaker. The pendant, on a silver chain, features a fish swallowing a worm on a hook.
Nan invites you to stop by, visit, and look at her fun pieces. She will also show you her 2010 award winning piece from KACC Teacher Art Show.
Not new to the show , because she has been helping Nan for years, but new to show her own art this year, will be Marcy Holmes Wheeler, a teacher in Menard, who was a former commercial artist in Albuqueque, New Mexico, has won awards and sold her work.
Marcy does drawing, painting , and art gourds. The prismacolor pencil drawing is an example of her fabulous work.
Also new to the show is Frances Taylor who is an outstanding painter, especially of pet portraits. The pet portrait shown is of "Kita", owned by Wylie Taft.
Frances does acrylic painting, prismacolor and pencil drawing. She is an award winning artist having won many first and best of show titles with her drawings.
