The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, October 5th, for its monthly business meeting. There were 34 members and 2 visitors in attendance. Among the visitors were 2 Mason High School Seniors, Trey Schwertner and Kason Wood.

"Boss Lion" John Gamill was responsible for the program and Secretary/Treasurer Gene Gammill read the minutes and gave the financial report. The 5K/10K walk-run was another success this year, although there were fewer participants. The club will get a final total and make donations to organizations at next month's meeting. There being no other business, the meeting adjourned.

The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, October 12th, at noon at Zavala's. The program chairman will be Elliott Courtright.

The Mason Lions has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
