Kelly Spinks At Mason Country Opry On Tuesday

The Mason Country Opry will be held on Tuesday, October 26, at the Odeon Theater in downtown Mason. The show begins at 7:30 PM and admission is $8.00 per person. Tickets will be available at the door or reservations can be made by calling (325) 597-2119.

Kelly Spinks will be the featured entertainer. Spinks grew up with a great love for traditional Country Music. He began playing fiddle and singing during his school years. He worked many dance halls and school functions fine tuning his ability to provide great music for his audience.

"I just loved Country Music so much," Spinks said. "That I wanted to be a part of this great business. I wanted to play the fiddle and sing for the people. I am fortunate to have been able to realize that dream."

Spinks has released two very successful CD’s and has received great reviews especially in the overseas market. He has developed a big following in England.

"Kelly Spinks is a traditionalist with a style of his own," Duncan Warrick (music critic for Country Music People Magazine in London, England) said. "He sings great, plays a mean fiddle, has an incredible knack for choosing great songs, and will never be seen in a shirt that hasn’t been liberally starched and pressed. Modest and unassuming, Kelly is a real talent who genuinely cares about country music. In his hands its future is secure."

Spinks travels with his band Miles of Texas in a tour bus all over the state of Texas and into Oklahoma. He is frequest performer in venues such as Pearls Dance Hall in Ft. Worth, London Dance Hall in London, Melody Oaks in Priddy, Stardust Club in Odessa and the West Texas Fair and Rodeo in Abilene.

Spinks recently recorded a two song CD with his musical hero Tony Douglas. Spinks and Douglas recorded the classics "His and Hers" and "Mention My Name." A special release party was held on March 1, in Fort Worth.

"This is Kelly’s third appearance with us at the Mason Country Opry," Justin Trevino said. "Kelly and I have been long time friends and we look forward to working together again on the Mason Country Opry stage."

Other entertainers on the Mason Country Opry will include Tommy Kent, Justin Trevino, Sammy Geistweidt, Kelsey Behrens, Benny Fred Kothmann and Shane Lively. Tracy Pitcox will MC the show.
