Hilda UMW Meets

Hilda United Methodist Women met recently at the new parsonage. Present were Jan Appleby, Betty Bauer, Dorothy Brandenberger, Margaret Brown, JoAnn Coston, Gerry Daniel, Shirley Davis, DeeDee Fiedler, Doris Geistweidt, Leatrice Haley, Carolyn Hierholzer, Pastor Mal Hierholzer, Linda Kesler, Cindy Powell, Florence Smith, Pat Tucker, Selene Wissemann, Reyna Garcia, Dian Willman and guest Ida Mae Haley.

Hostesses for the meeting were Carolyn Hierholzer and Dorothy Brandenberger. They prepared an outstanding brunch with a Halloween theme which was enjoyed by all. Shirley Davis read the devotional and prayer calendar. Jan Appleby presented the pledge service entitled "What Gift Can We Bring?"

Ongoing projects were discussed. They include preparing birthing kits and layette kits to be distributed as needed by the Methodist Church. It was voted to participate in First United and Art United Methodist Churches’ angel tree to provide Christmas gifts to needy children.

The next meeting will be held at Cindy Powell’s home in Hilda on November 9 at 10 a.m. Reverend Suzanne Brantley will present a program on Advent.
