The Hext Volunteer Fire Department is holding their annual fundraiser on Saturday, October 30th, from noon until it's all gone. There will be a fish fry with all the trimmings, a bake sale and a washer pitching tournament. Entry fee for the washer pitching tournament is $20 a couple. There will be a 40% payout for first, and prizes for second and third.

Tickets will be drawn all day for a wide variety of prizes. Tickets are $1 each and can be bought from any member of the fire department. Prizes include a $200 gift certificate to Academy donated by Solid Rock Concrete; a Howa stainless 223 rifle donated by Bevans State Bank and Guns & More; an 870 Remington 20 gauge shotgun donated by Mason National Bank and The Commercial Bank of Mason; a two-day spring turkey hunt (two birds) with a two-night stay in a cabin on-site donated by Tyler and Paige Wright of FindaRanch.com; a hog hunt with hunting dogs; Paula Deen cookware set; a smoker from Higginbotham in Brady; a weed eater from Higginbotham in Menard; a picnic table from Mason building Supply; a ton of corn from Kothmann's Commission; a ton of corn from BFE in Erna; predator calls and videos from Burnham Bros.; knives donated by Mason Feed Store and Sure Fed Feeds in Brady; a large hog trap and other smaller prizes.

Everybody come out and join us for a day of fun and fellowship at the Hext Trading Post. Look for the tents and fire trucks. You can't miss it.
