The 7th Grade played host to the visiting boys from Big Lake this past week.

Big Lake wasted no time in the first period when they scored on a 36 yard sweep , then tacked on the two point conversion leaving the young Punchers in their dust. Mason struggled to get something going offensively and found the Owls were too big and strong for the Punchers to maintain any type of drive.

Big Lake scored again in the 2nd period but failed at their attempt to tack on the PAT.

In spite of the score, several Punchers stepped up and made some good defensive stops during the 2nd and 3rd periods. Alejandro Martinez and Andy Gilley did a good job at defensive ends. Linebackers Jacob Moreno and Seth Hudson made several good stops during the 3rd and 4th periods.

The Owls made a nice drive in the 3rd period that resulted in the final score of the evening, putting the Big Lake crew out front 0-20.

Mason will pack their bags again this coming week and travel to Goldthwaite for a 5:00 game.
