Both Junior High teams hit the road again this past week, this time to Goldthwaite Texas. Each team came out with a win which seems to always make the trip back home a little easier.

The 7th Grade traded licks with the Eagles during the first half of play. Each team threatened with the go-a-head score but was turned back by good defense. Our defense did a good job in the first and second periods. Seth Brewer, James Durst, Samuel Dyer, Luke Gillespie, and Andy Gilley made several good defensive plays.

When the teams came back after the break, the Punchers put together a nice drive that covered 74 yards and a touchdown. Offensive linemen, such as, Pedro Rivera, Jacob Moreno, Jose Calderon, and Jonathan Gonzalez opened up the field, for our running backs. Gilley, Bibb, and Hudson picked up good yardage which advanced the ball to the Eagle 46 yard line. Hudson then broke free on the bootleg and was brought down on the Goldthwaite 3 yard line. Hudson then followed his center Luke Gillespie up the middle for the score. The PAT failed but the Punchers had placed the only points on the board which would be the difference in the contest.

In the 4th period, the Eagles made several efforts to change the course of the game but good Puncher defense turned them back each time. Defensive stand-outs include, Daniel Parker, Nick Martin, Seth Hudson, Levi Hofmann, Garret Bibb, and Tyler Pawvlik. As the clock ticked down, the Punchers picked up another win, 0-6. Next week the Punchers will finish out their year as they play host to the Blizzards of Winters.
