The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, October 26th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 33 members in attendance. Among the visitors was one Mason High School senior, Shayla Estes.

Lion Brent Drennan was responsible for the program and introduced Gabe Jennings who spoke about the "Bobwhite Brigade" program. Gabe attended the program that was held on the "74" Ranch in Cambellton, Texas, this past summer. He was a cadet in one of six 'coveys.' A covey consists of five cadets, one assistant leader and one leader. Gabe was awarded the Top Cadet of this session because of his hard work, knowledge and leadership. He will, along with his covey, get to enjoy a guided quail hunt in December on the ranch. He will also be an Assistant Leader at a camp next summer.

The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, November 2nd, at noon at Zavala's. The program will be the monthly business meeting.

The Mason Lions has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.

Don't forget the Lions' Hamburger Lunch, this Friday, November 5th, on the west side of the Courthouse!
