When the lights went out in Grossville, was this years 8th annual Grossville Pig Out theme! With 48 people just starting to PIG OUT and the lights went out. The Dispatcher for the Coop was there, Yelling, "CHECK THE FUSES!" Z said, "It’s the Transformer Fuse."

So, there went the Dispatcher and shortly there after Rod and Daniel arrived and refused the 5KVA transformer. Thus with Cheers from all that were holding flash lights for the food line and all others that were eating by lanterns! Central Texas Elect. Coop. guys were the Thanksgiving heroes!

Rod and Daniel explained to Z that a 5 KVA transformer couldn’t keep up with 3 electric turkey fryers, 2 crock pots, electric heaters, coffee pot, 2 refrigerators,1 deepfreeze, 3 hot water heaters, and a couple of turkey roasters all going at the same time!

However, the turkeys got cooked, the food was warm and all did eat! I don’t think any one got HUNG when the lights went out, like they did in Georgia! I do know the Texas Longhorns didn’t win. Gee, we had a television going, too!

This is what makes memories. However, it sure would have been easier if we just had Bar-B-Que, red beans and potato salad! Turkey is good, but I’ve had mine for the year. In this part of Texas, It’s BEEF!

P.S. Help your Texas Beef industry! Run over a chicken!!!!!!
