The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, December 7th, for its monthly business meeting. There were 39 members and 3 visitors in attendance. Among the visitors were 2 Mason High School seniors, Miriah Kidd and Amanda Hahn.
"Boss" Lion John Gammill was responsible for the program. Secretary/Treasurer Gene Gammill read the minutes and gave the financial report. Gene reported that the Pedia-Vision screening machine had been paid off completely. Mark Hurta was inducted as a new member by his sponsor, "Boss" Lion John Gammill and yours truly received a pin for bringing in two new members.
The Lions Club will hold their Pancake Supper on February 1st. This is a Tuesday and the basketball teams will be playing Johnson City. All proceeds go toward our two $500 scholarships.
The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, December 14th, at noon at the Richard P. Eckert Civic Center. The program will be the Christmas Party.
The Mason Lions has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
