Wednesday, December 22, 2010 • Posted December 22, 2010

Llano Fine Arts Guild is pleased to present Elaine Leedy as our guest artist for January. Although Elaine uses many other "mediums", her favorite is soft pastels. We are excited and feel fortunate to have her coming to our guild to share her knowledge with us. Her favorite subject is landscape, and she captures the essence and mood of the moment. Her colors range from bright to very subtle and muted. "When Elaine Leedy shows her work at outdoor festivals, people stop in their tracks. "I love your use of COLOR!", they exclaim. Known for her vibrant color and lighting, her paintings reflect her inner spiritual side which draws you into a peaceful place.

As co-owner of Art That Makes You Laugh by Jeff Leedy for 22 years as CEO, CFO, and COO, Elaine has organized, opened and managed three art galleries by the same name in California and Texas.

While beginning her own art career just 10 years ago, she has been accepted in to several top art festivals such as Main St. Fort Worth, Bellevue (WA) Museum Art Festival, Park City UT Art Festival, Bayou City Memorial Park and Downtown Festivals, Cottonwood Art Festival, The Woodlands Art Festival, Art in the Square (Southlake TX) and Art on the Square (Madison WI).

Elaine also shows her work at her own gallery/studio in Marble Falls, TX where she and her husband, Jeff team-teach dynamic workshops in drawing and pastels. Students find them not only fun, but also generous with their knowledge and resources as Elaine demonstrates and explains her lively use of color and texture.

Elaine Leedy is a member of the Pastel Society of America and The Central Texas Pastel Society.
