"Cloud" Letters

To Anonymous Letter-Writer:

To whomever has taken it upon themselves to send anonymous letters to survivors in the names of their deceased loves ones - STOP IT. Do you REALLY think you are comforting us? I and others I know have received these mystery letters about the deceased's supposed "First Christmas in Heaven," and it is one of the most unnerving and unsettling experiences I have endured after the loss of my husband.

Honestly, do you think Heaven is running on Earth's timetable? It is ludicrous and erroneous to assume that Heaven is an extension of this present, temporal existence! Have you ever even read the Bible? I have - more than once. And NO WHERE does scripture describe anything of this sort. It is difficult enough for survivors to deal with the loss of a loved one, but to be harassed with anonymous, cloud-covered mystery letters "from Heaven" is cruel, unnecessary, and unfounded in scripture. Matthew 22:29 says: Jesus... said to them, "You are mistaken, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God." The power of God will provide for new relationships and a new existence that transcend the present order of things. Read it.
