The water tower, that is.

High on Post Hill.

Towering above the fort.

Dark clouds surrounding it.

And then there was light.

Sun streamed through the clouds.

The tower lit up like a huge candle.

The word “MASON” glowing.

Better than any neon sign.

A cosmic reminder of where we are.

Better than anywhere else.

Which is why so many want to move here.

Friendly people.

Clean streets.

Low crime rate.

Historical buildings.

Beautiful countryside.

Nice old houses.

Pride of ownership.

Places to worship.

And to commune with Nature.

Happy children.

Riding bikes.

Playing ball in the street.

Running down the sidewalk to Hinckley’s.

Or the Coffee Mug ‘N More.

Genuine concern.

Talk about the weather.

Talk about the rain.

How much, how little.

Same ol’, same ol’ everday.

Could be a rut.

But more like a groove.

Round and round at a gentle pace.

Like an old 33rpm record.

Dawdle here.

Visit there.

Do bidness over a burger at Northside.

That’s Mason.
