The 8th Grade Boys hit the practice floor after Christmas, then hit the road for back to back games with Rocksprings and Medina.

In the Rocksprings game, the Punchers jumped out in front early leading the first period 9-2 and finished out the half with a six point lead. J’Angelo Martinez, Miguel Castillo, and Hunter Kunc lead in the rebound department, while Louis Castillo, Sam Martinez, and Miguel Castillo lead in the assist category. The Punchers fell behind by five points late in the fourth quarter but battled back by way of several steals off their press. The Punchers then gained the lead by three points but the Angoras tied the game at the buzzer with a three point shot from the top of the key.

The game would go into double overtime before it was over, but in the final period, Louis Castillo would score one field goal followed by Miguel Castillo hitting an all important jumper that ended with a foul and a subsequent free-throw.

Our guys did a lot of good things while under pressure. Players from the bench stepped in and did a good job helping with the overall team win.
