Jane Hoerster is our Library Historian and custodian of the Sesquicentennial Archives Room, which houses an array of historical documents. The collection includes family histories, yearbooks, photos, citizen records from 1858-1900, obituaries, cemetery records, maps, and histories of the fort, the county, and county organizations. Jane also notes that the public has access to The Mason County News from 1886 to the present. Jane stated, "I love meeting and helping people, and I love the history of Mason. We have a really neat history." We have a "really neat" lady, so if you have questions about Mason County and its people, drop by to see Jane. Chances are, she will have the answers.!
