Winter sure showed us that it still had some teeth; I almost forgot where I was! The groundhog didnt see his shadow so I guess that means spring should be right around the corner. Hopefully rain won't be too far behind!
Celebrating birthdays this week are Turner Ashby on the 10th and Garret Bibb on the 15th. And celebrating their 38th anniversary, our former pastor and his wife, Leonard and Barbara Foster.
I'm definitely out of practice writing this column, I forgot to mention last week all the people we need to keep in our thoughts and prayers. Continue to pray for Jane Krause, Sue Ceynowa, Ruby Toeppich, Etta Marie Mutschink, Anna Grace Durst, Pearl Leifeste, Dick Pierson, Sara Dixon and the Bradley family. We pray for healing, peace and comfort for you all.
Our soldiers are on the front lines every day, protecting our way of life, and I pray for their safety every day. I hope you join me in that. Keep Kyle Pierce, Matt Krause, Stuart Jordan, Amanda Adams, Taylor Slocum and Josh Calhoun in your thoughts and prayers as they do their duty.
On Sunday, February 13th, the Art UMC will have a covered dish luncheon after church. Join us for 11 a.m. services and stay for lunch afterwards. All are welcome.
Pastor Mark's sermon this Sunday was about Psalm 91. This is the only place in the bible where God's protection promises are listed; His promises to protect us, our family, and our home. And we need to have faith and believe in His promises. Having faith is a choice, the choice to believe in something we cannot see. And with our faith in Him and His word, we will be protected forever. Do you have the faith to believe in Him?
