Service of Prayer Against Cancer
Wednesday, February 9, 2011 • Posted February 9, 2011

"The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective," James 5:16.

Trinity United Methodist Church in Castell would like to invite everyone to join us in a prayer service focused on the elimination of cancer, Saturday, February 12th at 6:00 p.m. Cancer is truly the plague of our time. As Christians, we would be remiss is we did not make an effort to join our voices together in prayer to ask for God’s mercy.

The communities of Llano and Mason each have cancer relays, and volunteers who work tirelessly to raise money for research and comfort for those suffering with cancer. As the church, the Body of Christ, we want to aid in their efforts with intercessory prayer. We will lift up those scientists and doctors working for an end to cancer. We will lift up those whose mission is to comfort those suffering from cancer. We will lift up those families that are affected, and of course, those currently facing this terrible disease.

The service will include a study of the scriptures, individual and corporate prayer time, proclamation of the Word, anointing with oil for those that wish, and Holy Communion (the Lord’s Table is open to all who wish to receive). The Hilda United Methodist church choir will provide special music for worship, and everyone is invited to fellowship and refreshments in the fellowship hall after the service.

Trinity United Methodist Church is located in downtown Castell, TX on Old Schoolhouse Road. Look for our sign next to the road.
