Wednesday, February 16, 2011 • Posted February 16, 2011

Several churches in the Mason area, including Art United Methodist Church, Castell UMC, First UMC and Hilda UMC have joined together to promote the CROP Hunger Walk. It will be held at Schreiner University, 2100 Memorial Blvd. in Kerrville. Registration will be at 9:30 a.m. in the courtyard of the Kathleen Cailloux Activity Center on the Schreiner campus.

The CROP Hunger Walks have been sponsored by Church World Service for over forty years. CWS works in eighty countries to provide emergency food aid and long-term development assistance, supporting infant health and nutrition services, and developing sustainable safe sources of drinking water as well as many other services. Besides these types of services, CWS also provides international and local emergency support for disasters.

Twenty-five percent (25%) of the monies raised by walkers will go to the Mason Food Bank.
