The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, February 15th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 36 members and 4 visitors in attendance. Among the visitors were two Mason High School seniors, Lucas Haley and Jansen Rycklik.
Lion Brent Hinckley was responsible for the program and he introduced Kristi Nunez of the Mason County Chamber of Commerce who spoke about her role as the Executive Secretary of Chamber. She also discussed the plans for the coming year; and, about the new board of directors.
She said that she and the board were very busy with plans for the banquet which is just around the corner. Tumbleweed Smith will be the guest speaker, and she was very excited about having him in Mason. Kristi then answered questions after her presentation.
The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, February 22nd, at noon at Zavala's. The program chairman will be Harold Hoerster.
The Mason Lions has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
