Mrs. Mildred Whitehead

Mrs. Mildred Whitehead passed away Sunday, February 27th, at the age of 93.

Millie is survived by step children, step grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews & a brother, Clarence Nixon & wife Margaret.

Millie was born March 8, 1917, in Doss, TX, to William & Octavia Ransleben Nixon. She married Jack Whitehead on January 12, 1957, in Brady, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Dorothy Van Hoozer, a brother, Tom Nixon & a sister-in-law, Louise Nixon. She was a graduate of Fredericksburg High School & went to work for the telephone company in August of 1936. She retired February 28, 1982, and then volunteered at Knopp Nursing Home.

Funeral services for Mildred Whitehead will be 1 PM, Wednesday, March 2nd, in the chapel of Fredericksburg Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Burdick officiating. Graveside services will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation for Mildred Whitehead was on Tuesday, March 1st and Wednesday, March 2nd, in Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fredericksburg Victory Fellowship Church, Hill Country Memorial Hospice, Hill Country Memorial Hospital, or the charity of one’s choice.
