The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, March 8th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 36 members and two visitors in attendance.

Lion James Kingston was responsible for the program and he introduced Patti Grote, Mason County Librarian, who spoke about the services and opportunities that are available at the M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library.

Patti said that if you have not been to the library lately, you need to come in and see the changes and new things they have available. She also noted that state funds for the rural libraries will take a big cut; but, hopefully, it will not mean too big a change to our library, because of the generous donations made by the citizens of Mason County.

The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, March 15th, at noon at Zavala's. The program chairman will be Eldon Kothmann.

The Mason Lions has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
