geAustin’s Clickety Cloggers exhibition team is performing Saturday, 1 p.m., at the Castell General Store during a fundraiser for local riflesmith JohnTally.
Donations collected during the event will be used to help defray medical expenses and purchase an iPad for Tally, who recently suffered a stroke.
"John Tally has not lived in Castell very long, but you’d think he was a fixture from the past," said Randy Leifeste, one of the store’s owners. "With his long hair, full gray beard and a twinkle in his eye, he makes every visitor feel welcome.
"John’s very knowledgeable in aviation, photography and rifle-smithing. People just love to sit and visit with John."
The Clickety Cloggers perform an Appalachian style dancing at events and festivals throughout Central Texas. The group will take the stage Saturday for a 30-minute, family friendly show.
Though most of the team hails from the Austin area, two of the cloggers - Judy Varga and Roxie McCoy - are from Kingsland and Burnet, respectively.
The Castell General Store, 19522 W Ranch Road 152, is 18 miles west of Llano. Barbecue and beverages will be sold during the fundraiser. For information or directions, call (325)247-4100.
