The Mason County Library Wants You!...
Wednesday, March 23, 2011 • Posted March 23, 2011

We want you!... to Join Friends of the Library.

The sole purpose of this organization is to support our Mason County M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library. This is not a club with regular meetings, but rather an organization that supports the library with our actions and our money. We purchase equipment and books, help organize special programs and projects for adults and children, and we advocate for the library’s needs. Currently we are sponsoring an essay contest with cash prizes for youth. The theme is ‘Night at the Library.’ April 9th to 15th we will have a Book and Bake Fundraiser.

If you think the library is a highly valuable community asset which needs nourishment and support, WE WANT YOU! Friends regard a library as a dynamic agency for the education, enrichment and entertainment of both youth and adults. It only takes $2.00 to join Friends of the Library and by doing so you are promoting the interest and welfare of our county library.

As a small town library we are fortunate to have a strong collection and a welcoming library building and staff. Our library has over 13,707 books as well as CD audio books, eBooks and DVD movies. The collection is regularly being upgraded and includes current fiction and non-fiction, children and youth collections, Texana, Western, and numerous local histories and archives. Many people come to the library to use the computers and the free Wi-Fi internet, giving them access to information and friends from around the world.

And there is much more at our Library! Come and see.

Bring along the attached form and join Friends of the Library or you can send the form and your membership contribution to: PO BOX 1785, Mason, 76856. For more information call the Library at 325-347-5446 or Mary Freytag at 325-347-0305

Our library is another ‘gem’ in our county, and it needs your continued support.
