Mason Independent School District is beginning the process of applying for Federal funds for the 2011-2012 school year: Title I, Part A; Title I, Part C; Title II, Part A; Title II, Part D; Title III, Part A; and Special Education. These funds supplement the Mason ISD regular education program and ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.
The district will have several meetings to discuss Federal funds, parental involvement, professional development, staffing needs, and the standard application process. The public is invited to attend any of these meetings, view the Standard Application System and express their views regarding the development and design of the program or call the central office at 347-1144 for more information.
The district and campus education improvement committees are composed of a wide range of individuals including parents, community and business members, administrators and teachers to allow for greater input. The district committee will hold their annual planning meeting Wednesday, April 27, at 5:15 in the high school library. Each campus committee will conduct planning sessions after school on the following dates: High School campus meeting is scheduled for March 24; JH School campus meeting April 7; Elementary School campus meeting April 13.
