Castell UMC Announces Holy Week Schedule

The last Sunday in Lent is Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week. Palm Sunday depicts Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem and his subsequent passion and death. Palm Sunday is April 17th and we will celebrate with a worship service in our outdoor tabernacle at 9:30 a.m. with special participation by our children and youth and special music by Amy Moore. The climax of Lent, sometimes called the Triduum or the Great Three Days are from sunset on Holy Thursday through sunset Easter Day. These days proclaim the paschal mystery of Jesus Christ’s passion, death, and resurrection. During this Holy Week, we will have a barbeque supper on Holy Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. with fellowship and a remembrance of Jesus’ last supper with his disciples as well as a celebration of Holy Communion. Then, on Good Friday, we will have a service at 7:00 p.m. for meditation on Christ’s death on the cross.Easter morning, April 24th, we will celebrate Christ’s triumphant victory over death. Our Easter Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by an Easter Egg hunt. Bring flowers to decorate the cross in the sanctuary. This is truly the most spectacular time in the Christian year!Trinity United Methodist Church is located in downtown Castell, TX on Old Schoolhouse Road.
