Llano Hosts Tax Day Tea Party Rally
Wednesday, April 20, 2011 • Posted April 20, 2011

This past Saturday, the Llano Tea Party hosted a joint Tax Day Tea Party Rally, attended by nearly 300 patriots, at Llano’s American Legion Hall. Llano Tea Party joined forces with three other Hill Country Tea Party organizations, which included the Highland Lakes Tea Party Collation, Fredericksburg Tea Party and the Mason Tea Party, to continue to bring attention to the many government challenges at all levels - city, county, state and national. Bill Hussey, President of the Llano Tea Party stated, “We must get these governmental entities back to the original intent of the Constitution, to become fiscally responsible, hold our elected officials accountable and preserve personal property rights for the future of our Country.”The first joint Tax Day Tea Party Rally in this area had Texas Senators Troy Fraser (whose District 24 includes all of the participating Tea Parties) along with the Chairman of the Texas Legislature’s Tea Party Caucus, Senator Dan Patrick (District 7 – western Harris County). Llano and the surrounding areas should be pleased to have had two of Texas’ most conservative Senators speak at this year’s event. The Senators thanked all Tea Party and conservative organizations for their hard work which helped achieve a supermajority in the Texas House and a significant presence in the Senate. They encouraged all conservatives to hold their elected officials accountable and remind them that they work for us, not the other way around. Inman’s Kitchen hosted the Senator’s for lunch at their Llano restaurant showing their appreciation for the work the Senators are doing for Texas and the conservative movement. The emcee of the Tax Day Tea Party was Sgt. Sam Cox, who is a well-known radio personality in the Austin area, a Hill Country resident and strong conservative and Tea Party supporter. Music and entertainment was provided by a local band and was enjoyed by all. An Open Microphone segment was included in the program for our local grassroots citizens to speak about various issues. The event was made possible by contributions from many individuals and companies in the Hill Country area. All donations and contributions are greatly appreciated by the Tea Parties. For more information about the Llano Tea Party or other area Tea Party organizations, go to or contact Bill Hussey 325.423.1450.
