The Mason County Historical Commission will hold a raffle for the opportunity to ride inthe commission’s covered wagon entry in the RoundUp Parade on July 12. Commission President Jane Hoerster has had so many requests to ride with her in the wagon, that the commission has decided to allot the seats by a raffle.
Two of the available seats will be awarded to Mason County youth who are participating in the Summer Reading Program at the Mason County Library. This program is still open to the public and runs through July 11; for more information, contact one of the librarians.
Four additional seats will be determined by a drawing from the raffle tickets. The tickets are $1 each and can be purchased at the following locations: Mason County Chamber of Commerce, Mason National Bank, the Commercial Bank, the Coffee Mug n' More and the Mason County Library. Ticket sales will run through Wednesday, July 9th. The drawing will be held that evening and the winners will be contacted by telephone.
Following the RoundUp Parade, the covered wagon and oxen will be available for photographs until 2 p.m. They will be located under the shade trees at the north end of the Mason County Library. There is no charge for taking photos but bring your own cameras.
