Once again I would like to say ‘Thank you’ to Tad for holding down the fort while I was gone Sunday. My brothers and I took our Mom to church in Austin for her Mother’s Day celebration. Then we all enjoyed some Rudy’s bar-b-que.Birthdays this week are Mark Mutschink on the 14th, Steve Toone on the 16th, Rylan Fuqua on the 17th, along with Dick Pierson and Trey Schwertner. Hope y’all have a very happy birth day. Celebrating their anniversary this week are Brad and Brandy Kothmann. Please remember our loved ones who are homebound or in a nursing home’ Anna Grace Durst, Pearl Leifeste, Etta Marie Mutschink, Jane Krause, and Dick Pierson. Pray for our military men and women as they serve this our great country! Continue to pray for rain for us all as well as those areas where they are still fighting wildfires. Have a great week and be Blessed.Hope y’all had a great Mother’s Day. After all, she is the reason we are all here. Lee Graham was reported to have had a successful surgery and is doing great. Keep him in your prayers for healing.Stephen Mutschink filled in for the vacationing Mark Krause. The New Testament lesson was from selected verses from Acts 2:14-36. Peter was addressing the people of Jerusalem, both Jews and Gentiles. This is called Peter’s sermon. Peter told them to listen carefully because he was going to explain the events of Jesus’ life so they would know and understand all that had happened. He told them that in Joel 2:28,29. God thru Joel said that in the later days, He would pour out His spirit upon all mankind, causing them to prophesy and see visions and dreams They would see the future events pertaining to God’s kingdom. He would show them wonders in the sky and signs in the earth beneath, blood and fire and smoking vapor. The sun would turn dark and the moon into blood before that obvious day of the Lord comes. And whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Peter, who had denied knowing Jesus three times, now was empowered by the Holy Spirit, telling the people that the trials in their lives had come that their faith may result in praise, glory and hope in the revelation of Jesus Christ. Prepare for action. Be Holy because He is Holy. Live in fear of the Lord. Praise God for the resurrection. God made Jesus for us. What are you going to do for Him? Repent, be baptized, save yourself. God’s will was being done; God was in control. Peter is a living example of what God can do. Let God do His will in your life. Live your life in reverent fear – a healthy respect of a believer in God. Be grateful children in your freedom bought by the blood of Jesus Christ. God’s plan for the world was complete before time began. God’s will and His word will remain forever. Focus on God’s will and word; it will lead to eternal life. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Then share the lemonade with the world. Go.
