The Mason Bluebonnet Study Club will meet on Monday, May 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the Richard Eckert Civic Center. Local historian Jane Hoerster will be guest speaker. Her subject will be the life and times of early black settlers in this area. The program was prepared for February as a celebration of Black History Month, but had to be postponed due to Ms. Hoerster’s encounter with pheumonia. Members and guests are encouraged to come and hear this interesting bit of Mason history.Annual dues will be collected at the meeting by treasurer Mary Ellen Merkel. Also on the agenda will be a discussion of whether to have regularly scheduled 42 Tournaments. Members are asked to bring any ideas about program subjects for inclusion in next year’s study which will begin in September. A planning meeting will be scheduled during the summer and all ideas will be considered.
