The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, May 10th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 37 members and one visitor in attendance. Lion Dane Phillips was responsible for the program "Boss Lion" John Gammill introduced Greg Mitchell, City Inspector, who spoke about his job with the City of Mason.Greg said he was trying to make permitting and code enforcement as easy as possible for those people affected. He also said that a few of the codes and ordinances were being looked at to try and update and improve their wording so they will be easier to understand and apply to our circumstances here in Mason. Greg invited anyone with questions or concerns to come by the City Office.The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, May 17th, at noon at Zavala's. The program chairman will be Melvin McCallum.The Mason Lions has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
