Texas Songwriters in the Round - Spring Forth

IT’S THE MERRY, MERRY MONTH OF MAY and another month for excellent songwriter sightings in the Texas Hill Country! Sandstone Cellars Winery in Mason Texas is hosting the Texas Songwriters in the Round series at the wine bar in downtown Mason on May 19th, 2011. The hours are from 6:30 to 10 PM. They suggest you get there early to get a good seat due to the popularity of the event. The series is in it’s 12th year of presenting Texas original music in a family friendly atmosphere. The show focuses on original music and presents a star each month, a group of rounds and and open mic for aspiring songwriters and performers. The goal is to support songwriting and showcase state-wide and local talent in community settings. The songwriters group also raises funds for Chemo Sabe, a cancer resource for those without insurance. Texas Songwriters in the Round is a non-profit arts and music group.The May show’s special guest is Daniel Makins of San Angelo, Tx. This is his 3rd appearance as the TSR star and is a very accomplished songwriter, producer and radio program host in his home town, San Angelo. Daniel’s song, “Long Time Ago” was included on a Travelin’ Texas Compilation Album put out by the Center for Texas Music History (other artists include: Robert Earl Keen, George Strait, Asleep at the Wheel, Marcia Ball, Eliza Gilkyson, and others). “One of the top 5 new artists most likely to be seen on Austin City Limits...poignant lyrics indicative of a true talent.” -The Daily Texan.
