Volunteers Needed to Place Veterans' Memorial Cemetery Flags
Wednesday, May 18, 2011 • Posted May 18, 2011

Thanks to the many generous donations received by The American Legion Fort Mason Post 285, we have plenty of American flags to decorate the graves of deceased Mason County veterans. Now, we need volunteers to help with this effort to place 750+ flags before the Memorial Day weekend. On Thursday, May 26th, between 3:30pm and 6:00pm, individuals who live outside of Mason, and have family cemeteries with veterans in them, can pick up flags at The American Legion Hall. We will need to record the name of the veteran(s) when the flags are picked up. Also, anyone willing to assist with the placement of flags at Gooch & Crosby cemeteries in Mason can either stop by the American Legion Post Hall on Thursday to leave their names or can call Lawrence Spell, 429-6224.Once again, thanks a bunch to everyone who made donations to support The American Legion’s Veterans Memorial Flag program. For God & Country!
