Well, we have had another week of sprinkles with some areas actually getting rain. We came in from out of town Saturday and the pavement was wet! It wasn’t measurable but we were still happy. We all didn’t need the hail and winds that folks further east of us received. I know quite a few of you have gardens and they don’t mix too well with hail or high winds. Each day is closer to the rains.Celebrating their anniversary this week are William and Lisa Leifeste Howard on the 28th. Have a ‘Lovely” day!Pray for our ladies in the nursing homes Etta Marie Mutschink and Pearl Leifeste, they are loved by us. Remember in your prayers our loved ones that our homebound Anna Grace Durst, Dick Pierson, and Jane Krause. As our service men and women serve our great country, pray for their safety Taylor Slocum, Stuart Jordan, Amanda Adams, Josh Calhoun, Matt Krause, and Kyle Pierce.A reminder for the members of Art Men’s choir, you are having practice on Wednesday May 25th at 7 p.m.It was a joy to have Pastor Mark and Barbara back with us after their vacation. Other joys were for the rain, that it is a beautiful day, and that Caroline was here visiting her family. Concerns were Bill was happy to be in church but need continued prayer for healing for the infection in his throat, Mike Wood is having surgery tomorrow (5-23), and keep Emily in our prayers as she searches for a job. Rev. Mark told us we had received thank you notes from his mother, Jane Krause and from Lorien Calhoun. Two special ladies. It was wonderful seeing the Mayor of Art and his wife, Nathaniel and Wanda Jordan, out and about looking in top form! The sermon was entitled “You Are Truly Loved”, the scripture reading was John 14:1-7. Do not let your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in me (Jesus Christ). Jesus was speaking to His disciples on the evening before He was arrested, horribly beaten, and then crucified. Though He was to suffer and endure all those things He was more concerned about comforting these disciples that had followed Him. Even though they weren’t perfect, even though they stumbled, even though they would deny Him, Jesus still loved them. His Love never faltered. All this was part of God’s plan. Jesus made the way for a life of love. Love for family, for those that persecute you, for those you don’t like, and for those that hate you. Do good even if they haven’t done good to you. We are called to truly love all people. We cannot out love God. It is not about us, it is about God and His Love.Have a great week and remember to look for all the beautiful things God made for us.
