Fine Arts Association Enjoys A 'Changing of the Guard'
Wednesday, May 25, 2011 • Posted May 25, 2011

On Friday, May 20th, the Fine Arts Association of the Hill Country held their annual installation of new officers for the 2011-2012 year at Ranchito de Venado, home of Dana and Denwood Butler. The event was celebrated with a bountiful pot luck meal that included many delicious Mexican flavored dishes. An assortment of homemade desserts calmed any need for ‘something sweet’ ... including a melt in your mouth carrot cake made by Jan Keller. Newly elected President, Carol Kothmann, is already hard at work making plans for the new year of programs and activities. There will be changes to scheduling times to make meetings more available to working members. This will be another year of interesting workshops and events. We would like to let the public know that we are in search of a well located building with air conditioning and a kitchen where we can hold our annual art show in comfort next year. If anyone knows of such a facility please contact one of the officers. The Fine Arts Association of the Hill Country is established to promote and develop the Fine Arts in Mason, McCulloch, Menard and Kimble counties. This will be accomplished by encouraging and promoting Fine Arts activities and by educational opportunities in the Fine Arts to the community. If you are interested in joining please contact Judy Uherek at 325 265 4480. Dues are $25.00 and they are due in June. A new yearbook will be published this summer to include a photo of each member with their information. Please join us in time to be included in the yearbook.
