Texas Ranger Honored

Texas Ranger George Oliver Chew will be honored with a ceremony at the Chew Cemetery on Saturday, June 11 at 2:00 P.M. Chew was born in 1832 and died in 1901. Ranger Chew served in Fayette County and on the Mexican border.Chew lived in the Esbon community and deeded the land for the cemetery in which he is buried.The public is invited to the ceremony. Bring a lawn chair if necessary. The Chew Cemetery is off of County Road 405 in Llano County. There will be signs for direction.
