The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, May 24th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 27 members and four visitors in attendance. Lion John Palacio was responsible for the program and introduced Brent Hinckley who spoke about his collection of maps and coins.Brent has aquired maps and coins that date back before Columbus discovered America. Brent said he tries to collect coins and maps from the same time period. He showed several coins and maps he has collected, and answered questions relating to each.The hamburger lunch will be Friday, May 27, on the east side of the square.The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, May 31st, at noon at Zavala's. The program chairman will be Charles Pluenneke.The Mason Lions has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
