That’s our wildlife for ya.
Two quail again.
Does that make it “quails”?
Big-eared statues in the shade.
A female deer.
Drinking from the dog’s water dish.
But then we had rain.
Thunder and lightning.
Moisture from the sky.
An inch to two inches.
Depending on if you were livin’ right.
Still we need more.
So hot chickens are laying hard-boiled eggs.
So dry even cedar is dying.
So fire, so good.
If fires were a blessing, then we’ve been blessed.
Two in one day.
I say bless the Mason Volunteer Fire Department.
Where-o-where would we be without ‘em.
Crisp and toasty, that’s where.
It’s crispy and toasty enough without fire.
So be careful out there.
