"Down the Drain With Jane"
Wednesday, June 25, 2008 • Posted June 25, 2008

I’ve just gotten rid of over a hundred e-mails trying to sell me Stuff and Designer Watches, among other items not to be mentioned. This is another example of our lives that seem to be revolving around STUFF and TIME. Online medicines were a big part of these 100 plus emails. So, we’re a Stuff buying-Time concerned and pill pushing society?

Seems the mail I get is almost this bad. However, Victoria's Secret has found out my age, and has given my name and address to Dr. Scholls. Better Homes has now referred my subscription to AARP. Then the television tells me to take this pill! And, I just want to know, “WHO GAVE THEM THE PERMISSION TO DO THIS?”

True, we’re in a society that passes off the buck. It’s not our fault! It’s the government’s fault-It’s the school's fault-It’s the county’s fault or it’s the pharmaceutical company’s fault. It’s just never OUR fault! We just don’t like to fess up and say, “I dropped the ball and I take reasonability for it.”

We are to raise our children, not the school. We elected the goofus into office! We don’t have to pay attention to the ads on television. And we have doctors to tell us what is right for us and to tell us the side effects. But, it isn’t my fault that I should receive such e-mail ads that think I’m a man and I have manly needs. No, that’s the little man in my computer that does this. He likes to irritate me and make my blood pressure go up so I’ll have to seek cheap’s. He’s the one that thinks I need a Rolex watch and need a college diploma to get a better job. And Victoria's Secret forgot to tell this little goofus that I’m a “Mature Woman!”

P.S. Life is funny, so I’m gelling out with my Dr. Scholls!
