Mason Sandlot Wood Bat Tournament
Wednesday, June 25, 2008 • Posted June 25, 2008

How many of you remember a time when you would gather up your neighborhood pals and head off to the baseball field with your worn in gloves and your wood bats for a great afternoon of baseball?

On June 24, 4 teams from central Texas will converge on Mason Texas to begin the Mason Sandlot Wood Bat Tournament. These teams will be San Angelo, Goldthwaite, Bangs, and Wall. Continuing on Thursday will be Llano, Mason, Brady, and San Saba. These games will start at 6:00 and 8:15.

Friday will find some of those teams squaring off again at the same times. On Saturday the games will start at 8 in the morning with the Consolation games at 8 and 10. The final game of a 6 game day will be the Championship game, which will start around 7:30.

The young men who will be playing in this tournament will be High School Eligible age. We will start the day off Saturday with some great breakfast tacos and continue on the afternoon with grilled hamburgers. Of course there will be popcorn, peanuts, and frito pies for the regular baseball fare. T-shirts will also be on sale starting on Thursday.

This event is a fund raiser to raise money for improvements on the High School Baseball Field. All donations and proceeds will go directly to Mason Athletics. If anyone would like to contribute in any way to this event, please contact Scott and Melody Trip at 347-7013.

Please come out and show your support to our future Mason Puncher baseball team and our future baseball program.
