Thrift.Thrifty.Stringent.Prudent.Frugal.Thriftiness.This economic drouth demands it.Look around.Seems like everything is on sale.Thrift stores. They’re thriving. We’ve got our own Thrift Store Row.Patriot Station.Mason Re-sale Barn.Community Thrift Store.Mason Thrift Store. One person’s trash being another’s treasure. At one end of the row is Sam’s Antiques.(Not a thrift store.)On the northwest corner of the square. At the other end (up Hwy 87) is the outdoor nursery/produce stand.Somewhere in-between is Country Collectibles.More of an antique store.Don’t miss it.Filled to overflowing, it will blow your mind.So will The Thing Is.Across the road. Not a thrift store either.Nor antiques. An uptown, upscale eclectic shop.Filled with a wide variety of unique items. Many of them made in Texas. And all affordable. From women’s fine clothing, both dressy and casual, to Orthoheel shoes. From handmade soap and handmade natural lotions. To purses, pottery, baby items, and jewelry. And steak rubs and Texas dip mixes by Fredericksburg Farms. The perfect place to shop. For yourself, your loved ones, for gifts of all kinds.Lisa and Mary will gift wrap too.Or get a gift certificate.Anyone would be hard-pressed not to find something at The Thing Is.Or browse while you get your hair done.Rae Beth’s salon, Off the Square Hair Company, adjoins it.One stop. One shop. Now that’s thrifty. And nifty too. That’s Mason.
