Hill Country Expands Internet Access in Mason with Additional Fixed Wireless Solution

Hill Country Telecommunications, the technology and communications leader in the Texas Hill Country, announces the deployment of its Motorola fixed wireless broadband network into the Mason, Texas market. This new network will allow a broader base of residential and business customers to take extended advantage of Hill Country’s all fiber broadband Internet access network that was completed in 2010. July 12, 2011 – Hill Country Telecommunications is in its second year as a competitive broadband Internet and telecommunications provider for the city of Mason, Texas. Now in addition to this state of the art fiber network, customers will have more options with connectivity provided by wireless access. This new network is available to residential and business customers and offers the highest speeds available locally for fixed wireless service.Hill Country’s wireless access offers residential and business customers reliable, robust, and secure connectivity via Motorola’s proven Point-to-Multipoint WiMAX High-Performance solution. “With the strong success of our new fiber broadband services in Mason, wireless access is the natural next step for this market,” said Delbert Wilson, General Manager of Hill Country Telephone Cooperative. “While this new service will be available to everyone, it will add great value and flexibility to those businesses already on our same network.”Hill Country chose the Motorola solution based on their proven performance record and MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology. “Delivering reliable service in the rugged Texas Hill Country can be tricky at times,” added Kerry Sutton, Hill Country’s Competitive Businesses Manager. “We believe this solution will allow us to offer faster speeds with greater reach and security than any one else, including our system already in place in the area.” Hill Country currently offers fixed wireless broadband in Mason with a different vendor.
