The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, July 12th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 40 members and one visitor in attendance. Lion Wibby Shearer was responsible for the program and he introduced Don Daniel and Andy Delacuze who spoke about the Mason Square Museum.The Square Museum has been open for four years and has had 16,630 visitors from all the contiguous 48 states, as well as Holland, Chili, England, Australia, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand and other countries I wasn't able to get into my notes.The museum is in a perpetual state of updating the relics and information about Mason County. The Mason Square Museum is open Thursday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at no charge to visitors. It is kept open by a few dedicated volunteers. Go take a look! I don't think you will be sorry.The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, July 19th, at noon at Zavala's. The program chairman will be Will Slaughter on the Bobwhite Brigade, as reported by Spencer Bierschwale.The Mason Lions has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
