VFW Post 8554 Celebrates New Year's Programs

The VFW Post 8554 of Mason starts off a new fiscal year. We have programs for students that can turn into some big money for education. They give students a chance to compete on the local, district, state and national levels. Savings bond awards will be presented at each level. All students Jr. high and high school are encouraged to enter. Entrys must be turned into the VFW post by November the 1st 2011.The post is raffling off a shotgun, Remington 870 12 ga. Chances are $2 each or 3 for $5. and can be purchased from any post member.The post has programs to reward EMT, Volunteer firemen, boy scouts, and teachers. We would like to have some entrys in these programs. Winners will get a chance to compete on the district level and could possible advance to the state or national level.Post next regular meeting will be held on August 15th at 6:30 PM in the American Legion hall behind the jail We encourage all qualified veterans to come and join.
