The “Pink” Event was a Success! We were so pleased to have 47 beautiful ladies attend our breast cancer awareness “Pink” Event last Wednesday, July 20. Staff from both the Llano and Fredericksburg hospitals were on hand to help give information, along with Department of Health and Human Services staff. We learned about several specialized programs for low income groups, and we want to remind you if you don’t have insurance but are not on Medicaid, and are over 40, please go get an application from the Mason Clinic, the Mason Community Foundation Thrift Store, or the Methodist Church and apply to get a free mammogram! Applications are due August 5th and are accepted only at the Mason Clinic due to confidential information on the forms. I would like to thank the planning committee especially- Sherry Alexander, Margaret DeAnda, and Ann Scarth. I would also like to thank those who donated door prizes- the Petal Patch, Country Home Health, Frontera Health Services, MKM Home Health, Jim and Kathy Jordan, Commercial Bank, First State Bank, Mason National Bank, and the First United Methodist Church for the location! We had some great volunteers help at the event too- Theresa Walker, Dawn Farmer, Pat Hrdlicka, Ceilia Ward and Lynn Hedges come to mind, plus our super hard working planning committee. I hope I haven’t left anyone out- thanks again for the support of this event, Mason!! We will do it again next year!
